1000 dairy farmers have now chosen to invest in a VMS solution from DeLaval, proving that DeLaval’s automatic milking system has become one of the most trusted and preferred robotic system on the market. With more than 300 units sold in less than a year, DeLaval is fast increasing their market share in the robotic milking market. DeLaval Norway alone doubled their anticipated sales during 2004.
Today DeLaval voluntary milking systems can be found in Japan, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, The Netherlands, Austria, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland and Sweden.
One reason for the fast increase in sales is the reduced running costs of the latest VMS model. The overall energy consumption has been cut by 40 percent compared to one year ago. Hydraulic technology powers and controls the VMS robot arm which is now faster and more robust. The teat cup attachment is 30 percent faster than before and four optical sensors can detect the presence of blood in milk. These new features have won DeLaval several awards at recent European Dairy fairs.
“Satisfied customers who are experiencing the benefits and potential of our VMS solution are the best proof of how well our system meets the demands of the modern dairy producer. And last years sales figures clearly confirm that”, says Joakim Rosengren, President and CEO of DeLaval International AB.
